Jay Blankenship is one of the 12 Regional Workforce Advisors who are focused on ensuring South Carolina’s workforce continues to be one of the best in the nation. At a time when South Carolina’s economy is developing at historic rates, the Regional Workforce Advisors are the state’s resource for creating a workforce of the future. The Regional Workforce Advisors will serve as a connection for the business and education communities to collaborate on how to best prepare the workforce to meet industry demands.

Vice President/General Manager; redi-Group

Grit Buhling is the General Manager of a Quality Service Provider supporting the automotive and manufacturing industry. She has set up the company, which is headquartered in Germany, in 2008 in Greenville, SC. Prior to that she worked at a firm specialized in headhunting and personnel development of its clients. Grit started her professional career as a Quality Engineer in Germany. She obtains a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering, a Certificate in Economics, is a Registered Corporate Coach (RCC) as well as a Certified Harrison Assessment Debriefer. She has lived in Germany, France and since 2005 in South Carolina and she loves to travel nationally and internationally.

Section Manager Leadership & Culture Transformation, BMW

Jan Collins is section manager for leadership culture transformation at BMW Manufacturing. She has over 20 years’ experience with the company. Most of her career has been spent in the field of logistics, travelling globally within the BMW Group Production Network. Her wide range of experience includes positions where she was responsible for data integrity, supply chain optimization, transportation logistics, contract bids and renewals, and logistics line supply and warehousing including management of automated warehouse systems. Additional responsibilities included inbound goods receiving, major systems migrations and line supply warehousing. Jan is currently in the human resources department and manages the leadership and professional training programs and global compliance.

Senior Manager; Verizon Wireless

Christal Brock-Curtiss is a thirty-year seasoned telecommunications expert with experience in customer service, driving results, developing leaders and creating an inclusive employee culture. She has held various positions in sales, operations and training. As a corporate trainer, manager and business professional her approach is to get to an apex where both the leader and the learner are achieving success. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Maryland and her Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management from Strayer University. She is originally from Washington, D.C. and currently lives in Greenville, S.C. with her husband.

Frank Grand is a retired United States Army Colonel. After serving for over 25 years on active duty, he is now capitalizing on his corporate & military leadership experience as an executive and life coach.

Frank’s experience spans public, private, civil and military service and includes key positions such as: Nuclear Staff Officer, On-Site Inspection Agency; Operations Officer United States Army Nuclear and Chemical Agency; Chief of Staff; Chief, Joint Operations Center; Director, Equal Opportunity and Diversity Programs Office; Chief of Security and Counterintelligence; Chief, Governmental and Public Affairs; Deputy, Technology Development Directorate; Program Integration Division Chief; and Senior Business Officer, Combat Support Directorate.

Dr. Nika White is a national authority and fearless advocate for diversity, inclusion, and equity. As an award-winning management and leadership consultant, keynote speaker, published author, and executive practitioner for D&I efforts across business, government, non-profit and education, Dr. White helps organizations break barriers and integrate diversity into their business frameworks.

The heart of Dr. White’s work is around being able to create transformative environments with intentionality around inclusion. She helps create professional spaces where people can collaborate through a lens of compassion, empathy, and understanding.
